School Forest

Prince Charles Senior Secondary School has two innovative forestry classes. Lois Huscroft has been teaching a grade 11 and grade 12 forestry classes for several years. These classes teach forest ecology, management and utilization of forest products. Lois works with local natural resource consultants, forest industry and the community forest in delivering the program. A new logging/milling program started by teacher Glen Mohr instructs students about harvesting equipment; logging techniques, saw milling and forest product marketing. This program is very "hands-on" and students work enthusiastically in this model of experiential education.
